Lady Voluptuous ‘Medusa’ dress – a review

It’s no secret that I love all things retro (and vintage repro), and as a curvy woman it’s important to me to find a dress which flatters my shape, and makes me feel great all at the same time. So when I heard that the lovely Georgina of Fuller Figure Fuller Bust had teamed up with the folks at Lady V London, I was really excited to check out the new range. And being a complete freak for leopard print, when I saw the Medusa dress in all it’s leopardy wonder, I knew it had to be mine.

The Medusa is a below the knee, fitted wiggle dress in a cotton sateen material, and my first impression when I excitedly ripped it out of the packing was just how great quality this dress is. It features a sweetheart neckline, 3/4 length sleeves and is nice and form fitting.

Normally, I go for a circle skirt in my 50s dresses. I’m not particularly happy with my mid-section and so form fitting frightens me a little bit, but I thought it was high time I took a risk and went for a different look. When I tried this dress on, I was not disappointed. While it hugs the body, it’s a stiff enough material that it skims over the curves rather than accentuate any lumps or bumps.

I’m about to get a new corset and I’m really keen to try this dress with that underneath, as I think it’d look even better but even without that, I’m really happy with how this looks on. And best of all for me, it’s one of the first times I’ve ever been comfortable wearing a dress this fitted. Happy, even. I love this dress, and it makes me like my curves. And for that, I have to say a huge thank you to Lady V London & Georgina.

It’s safe to say I will be buying *many* more of these dresses. Beautiful styles, excellently crafted and in a wide variety of prints. What’s not to love?
